Chapter 178 Buying David A Car!

Noah drove into his mansion's driveway, and parked up perfectly.

"That was a long day," He muttered as he stretched slightly, before stepping inside the mansion.

A scent of food wafted through the air.

Following the aroma, he entered the kitchen to find Selena at the stove, preparing his meal prep that he had told her about.

Noah leaned against the doorway. "Selena, you don't have to worry about me today," he said, his tone calm. "You can either eat it yourself or stop cooking altogether. Either way, do as you see fit."

Selena glanced over her shoulder, nodding politely. "Understood, Mr. Thompson," she said before returning her focus to her dish.

After talking to Selena, Noah made his way upstairs to his room. Entering the ensuite bathroom, he stripped off his clothes, revealing his well-toned, chiselled physique.

He let out a satisfied sigh as he sank into the jacuzzi.

The water was the perfect temperature, enveloping him in soothing warmth that embraced him from all directions. The gentle bubbling of the jets massaged his muscles, easing the tension. He leaned back, closing his eyes as the steam swirled around him.

Time seemed to slow down. The world outside was almost a blur, and for that hour, nothing else mattered.

Eventually, after feeling relaxed enough, Noah stepped out of the jacuzzi and wrapped himself in a soft towel. After drying off, he slipped into comfortable nightwear and headed straight to bed.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Sleep claimed him quickly.

The early morning light seeped through the curtains as Noah stirred awake. Blinking as the sun's rays landed on his eyes, he stretched lazily, feeling his body rejuvenate.

Noah began his morning as he always did, moving through his routine quickly.

After stretching, brushing his teeth, and getting dressed in a casual outfit, he headed downstairs.

Partway down, he spotted Pennyworth cleaning the corridor.

"Good morning, Mr Thompson," Pennyworth greeted, straightening slightly upon sighting him. "I hope you slept well."

"Good morning, Pennyworth. I slept amazingly last night," Noah replied with a soft smile.

Pennyworth nodded with a small, respectful smile before returning to his tas and Noah continued toward the kitchen.

Inside, Selena was moving around the kitchen, focused on her work. Hearing him enter, she turned her head slightly.

"I'm sorry for the delay, Mr. Thompson," she said apologetically. "Just one more minute and your meal will be ready."

"Alright," Noah replied, nodding lightly. "Take your time."

True to her word, within a minute, Selena placed the breakfast dishes in front of him.

The aroma was contagious, and the food was well prepared. It was protein-dense, with just the right balance to provide energy without filling him up to the brim.

"Enjoy your meal, sir," Selena said, stepping back.

"Thank you, Selena," Noah said, picking up his fork.

The meal was excellent, as always.

After finishing the meal, Noah leaned back in his chair for a brief moment. Then, he stood up and made his way to the living room.

Landing on the soft cushions of the sofa, he grabbed the television remote and turned on the TV.

'I might as well watch something as I digest, then I will hit the gym,' He thought, as he flipped through the channels.

"Breaking News: Metropolitan Police offer apologies after train incide-"

Noah skipped the news, clearly not interested, he already knew everything that happened so it wasn't anything worth mentioning.

After digesting, Noah started his day with a full-body strength session in his private gym.

The weights clinked softly as he powered through his routine, focusing on each movement.

Once he was satisfied, he grabbed a towel, wiped the sweat from his brow, and headed outside for a run.

The cold morning air welcomed him as he hit the pavement, his jog calm and controlled. The rhythmic thud of his shoes against the ground created a beat.

A short distance into his run, Noah noticed another runner ahead of him. The man looked to be in his mid-twenties, lean and athletic.

'Who's this?' Noah thought, his pace remaining consistent. He observed the man briefly before shrugging and focusing back on his run.

As Noah naturally closed the distance and overtook the man, the stranger glanced at him, a faint grin appearing on his face.

'Running alone is quite boring,' the man thought, watching Noah's smooth run. 'Let's see if this neighbour has enough energy for a friendly race.'

The man quickened his pace, his steps growing louder as he caught up to Noah. Without a word, he passed him, giving a brief glance over his shoulder and a challenging smirk.

Noah raised an eyebrow. The challenge was clear, but he wasn't interested in engaging right away. He continued running at his own pace, unconcerned about the man's challenge.

The man, noticing Noah wasn't taking the bait, began to slow down, his pace dropping slightly.

'It seems like this neighbour is not so competitive after all...boring' he thought.

But as the man eased up, Noah's pace subtly increased. Within moments, he passed the man again, his strides fluid and unhurried, as if he hadn't even noticed the other runner.

The man's grin faded into mild frustration. 'This guy… He's cheating!' he thought.

He thought that Noah was cheating, so determined not to be outdone, he accelerated again, pumping his legs harder as he surged forward to retake the lead.

Noah, noticing the man's effort, couldn't help but smirk slightly.

The two continued their silent tug-of-war for around ten minutes.

The man's frustration was growing with every back-and-forth pass. He finally decided to break the tension.

"What the hell, man?" the man blurted out, his voice tinged with annoyance. "Make up your mind! Are we racing, or are you just messing with me? You've passed me, slowed down, and overtaken me like ten times in the span of ten minutes! I speed up, you slow down. I slow down, you speed up! What's your deal?"

Noah glanced at him out of the corner of his eye but said nothing. Instead, he glanced down at his watch, noting the time.

It's almost time to end this, he thought, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

Without a word, Noah picked up his pace, his strides growing longer and faster. The man sighed, mistaking the move as yet another tease, but his competitive spirit got the better of him.

"Oh, no you don't!" he muttered, pushing harder to leave Noah behind. He managed to inch ahead, his heart pounding as he took the lead again.

For a moment, the man thought he had finally won. But then, he heard a faint sound behind him.

He glanced back over his shoulder, only to see a blur of motion. Before he could fully process it, Noah had already overtaken him, his speed leaving the man trailing in disbelief.

"What the—?!" The man's jaw dropped as he watched Noah dart ahead, his movements smooth and almost inhumanly fast.

'How is he this fast?!' the man thought, his eyes wide. 'I thought he was just some guy messing around, trying to win through tricks!'

Determined not to lose so easily, the man pushed his legs to their limit, his lungs burning as he tried to catch up. But it was no use. Noah was already a distant figure, shrinking into the horizon.

Eventually, the man slowed to a jog, then a walk, shaking his head in frustration and shock. He bent over, resting his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

"Who the hell was that guy?" he muttered to himself, glancing around the now-empty street. "I've never seen him around here before…"

Straightening up, he sighed and muttered, "Guess I'll just ask Anderson later. He knows everyone in the neighbourhood."

Returning home, Noah quickly hopped into the shower, letting the warm water wash away the sweat from his run.

Once refreshed, he threw on a casual outfit and called an Uber to head over to his parent's house.

It was a weekend, so there was no school for Emily, and he knew his mom would be off work.

"Dad will probably want to head to the teahouse, so I just need to convince him not to," Noah muttered.

Forty minutes later, the Uber pulled up in front of his parent's house. Noah stepped out, unlocking the door with his key and stepping inside.

In the living room, his mom and dad were seated, chatting casually. Emily, however, was nowhere to be seen.

"Noah?" his mom, Caroline, said, raising an eyebrow. "What are you doing here so early?"

"Nothing much," Noah replied, offering a warm smile. "I wanted to do something with you guys later on today. So I thought I'd come early to spend time with you."

Caroline's expression softened, her eyes lighting up. "Aww, that's sweet of you, honey. What is it you want to do later with us?"

Noah didn't hesitate. "I think it's time we got Dad a car. What do you think, Mom?"

Caroline's eyebrows lifted in surprise before she nodded, deep in thought. "You're right… he really does need one. You want to do it today?"

"Why not?" Noah shrugged casually. "Strike while the iron's hot."

His mom nodded again, a small smile playing on her lips. "You're right."

David, sitting on the side with a newspaper in his hands, looked between the two with his mouth slightly ajar. "Hello? Are you two forgetting I'm right here? You're talking about me but it seems like I don't have a say in the matter."

Caroline chuckled, moving to sit beside him. "Of course, you have a say, honey. Tell me, what car do you want? An Audi? A Merc? Maybe a BMW?"

David's lips twitched, struggling between amusement and exasperation. Caroline couldn't help but laugh, leaning in to hug him.

"I'm kidding, honey," she said with a soft giggle. "But you already agreed to this the other day."

David sighed, leaning back in his seat. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered, shaking his head but unable to hide the faint smile creeping onto his face.

Noah turned his attention back to his mom. "Where's Emily?"

"She's in her room," Caroline replied. "Probably on the phone with her friend or playing one of those games of hers."
