Chapter 415 A Letter
In the Sleeping Garden's base, there was a huge crystal that they used to calculate one's Ena. Of course, Nathan had gotten Vivian's permission to use it.
"Hoho. Is this the crystal?" Bella looked excited. "I wonder how far I have reached…"
"Should we go to check our familiars as well?" Neyeid asked.
"I think we should." Bella nodded playfully. "This way, we don't have to worry about checking it anymore. At least we don't have to check again anytime soon."
"Who should go first?" Sonia asked.
"Should I? You forced me to come back even though I was in the middle of the mission, so I wanted to finish this quickly and return." Revon asked.
"I think you should." Christopher nodded.
They all looked at Evelyn and Nathan. Nathan was the one who brought this over, while Evelyn was their captain.
To their surprise, Evelyn actually volunteered. "I'll go first."
Evelyn was usually not interested in other things besides her revenge, so it was quite surprising that she volunteered.
"Evelyn? Are you sick? Do you need Anubis to heal you? Let me prepare a warm bath for you and make sure you sleep early." Bella's face was filled with worry, and it looked like she wasn't joking.
Evelyn's eyebrows twitched. "Stop misunderstanding. I'm just here to make sure it is safe. I'm the strongest, so it's better for me to go first."
"Captain…" Sonia looked at her with admiration while Bella rolled her eyes away. As her childhood friend, she knew Evelyn's personality, and this wasn't something she would do. There must be something else that made her want to test her own power.
And she was right.
Evelyn walked toward the crystal while remembering the conversation she had with Nathan after teaching him her abilities.
"How are you going to catch several hands? Not just one, but several…" Evelyn asked. She had thought about it, but there was simply no plan that could capture all of them.
Nathan simply raised a finger and pointed it at himself. "I will be the bait."
"Bait? What are you talking about?"
"It is simple. Because of the sudden boost in my popularity, people will most likely make a move against me, including the terrorist organization."
"Yeah." Evelyn nodded. "Well, there are some movements around your school. Most likely, they're trying to do something to you, whether it's negotiation or assassination."
"I know. But it won't happen. No. I stop them from continuing with their plan." Nathan smirked.
"!!!" Evelyn squinted her eyes, wondering how he could do that.
"Anyway, I have stopped those people, but the terrorist organization is not affiliated with any of them. Hence, they will most likely make a move.
"However, because I have beaten them several times, they are still confused whether I have the capability to destroy them or not. They're wary of the sage's disappearance.
"But a few days from now, I'm planning to go on a mission with the daughter of the Dragon King, which gives them a signal that I might be unaware of what's going on. After all, I'm being reckless by showing myself in the open, which allows people to get me."
"So, you make them think the Sage was the one doing everything for you?" Evelyn crossed her arms.
"Yep. That's why they will observe me during the entire mission, and once they find out that it's just my foolishness and the Sage is not there to protect me…" Nathan paused.
It took her a second to see what would happen. "They will most likely come for you on your next mission. And they know it will happen because you are a fool. However, they know your strength, so they won't send low-level people.
"And because they're afraid of Vivian's intervening in the situation, they will most likely send a hand… no, multiple hands to ensure the success."
Nathan grinned. "Exactly."
"But won't they know this is your plan? After all, they will realize that others have recalled their spies."
"That won't happen." Nathan chuckled.
…
Liaystian Kingdom.
"What did you say?" The king stood up.
"Yes, sir. We have just received a message from the Holy Kingdom. After negotiating with Nathan directly, the Pope has gotten his cooperation. Forest Queen Vivian has agreed to bring two blacksmiths from each kingdom to learn the manufacturing process from her to avoid monopolization of a single kingdom.
"However, they are asking for monetary support or, more like royalties, for using the technology."
The king gasped. "Who cares about royalties? We are already in a bad position for not having a good relationship with Nathan, so we will most likely not get accepted… Why would this happen?"
"In the letter, the Pope has mentioned that Prince Rudeus is a remarkable person for Nathan to mention him multiple times in a good way. Hence, in the light of Prince Rudeus, he is asking the Liaystian Kingdom to join in this agreement.
"As for the details, he wishes for our presence in the negotiation with other kingdoms as well as Forest Queen Vivian that will be held in ten days from now."
The king couldn't help but recall Rudeus. He thought Rudeus had messed up, but it turned out he had done a great job.
"For the time being, tell our people to only observe Nathan in secret. If there is someone trying to harm him, eliminate them. I will give you another order if the negotiation breaks down. So, hold your position."
"Yes, sir."
…
Holy Kingdom.
The Pope raised his head, recalling his conversation with Nathan.
"Still, even though you say you want to stop the monopoly, do you think it's possible? The core technology is still with you and your teacher. Besides, others might try to eliminate you so as to not worry about future threats.
"If I make my move to protect you, it will be seen as you and I having a secret agreement, which might make them think that the Holy Kingdom has gotten the monopoly of the magic weapons.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"While this is good for the Holy Kingdom, it won't be good for you."
When he heard his concern, Nathan actually smiled.
