Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 411 Asking Evelyn to Smile (Bonus)

Two days later.

Nathan had finally returned to the Sleeping Garden.

"I'm back. How is the progress of the investigation?" Nathan waved his hand, noticing that only Evelyn, Bella, and Neyeid were here.

"Well. What do we have here… the magical guy who invented magic weapons? Does such a famous person have time to visit peasants like us?" Neyeid grinned, teasing Nathan.

"You jest. I'm not someone important." Nathan chuckled.

"We have heard about the conference… or more like, Neyeid had just told us about it." Bella pointed at Neyeid. "You are truly surprising."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Hahaha. Thank you. By the way, do you want to test your enas? I have asked my teacher about the device, so you can test it without any concern if you'd like."

"Summoner's rank, huh?" Bella turned to Evelyn. "I'm pretty curious about it. What about you?"

Evelyn couldn't answer that question. On the one hand, the crystal provided some information. On the other hand, he didn't really wish to reveal her information.

Neyeid asked with a sly smile. "Nathan. Do you think I can get one of them? No, wait. How about I become one of the people who assist the registration? It's not like you're going to lose out on anything, right? The information will end up reaching this place as well."

"Hoho? That's indeed interesting. You are a reputable merchant out there." Nathan thought for a moment. "I don't really mind personally. If you can handle the official matter on that side, I will ask my master to approve it."

"That's great." Neyeid grinned. Even if he did this for free, his merchant group would be famous. That popularity would then translate to money.

If he didn't, he would still get money and connection to a lot of high-ranking people in multiple kingdoms.

Evelyn, who had been contemplating the whole time, asked, "I don't mind testing my ena, but you have to promise me one thing, Nathan."

Bella raised her eyebrows, thinking, 'Wait. It's voluntary, right? Why does it feel like Nathan is the one owing her something?'

"What is it?" Nathan asked calmly, as if he didn't mind about the request.

"I want to catch those hands and interrogate them before New Year."

"Evelyn. Isn't that too much?" Bella gasped.

Nathan stopped her with a wave of his hand. He nodded. "Sure. I can do that. Not just one, but multiple of them. However, I need three things. First is your cooperation. My strength is nowhere near enough to fight those hands, so you will have to fight them personally."

"I'm aware of that. I can send Revon if you need help."

"No. Revon might have the strength, but he is lacking in other departments. If you want to catch them, your ability is more suitable."

Evelyn thought for a moment and nodded. "Fine. I'll make a move personally."

"The second condition is to teach me about space and gravity. Even your ability is fine. I need that knowledge."

Evelyn crossed her arms. Why would he need that knowledge? Was he planning to harm her or something?

Still, Vivian was weaker than her. Even people like Sullivan could encircle her but were unable to contain her completely if she wanted to escape. Hence, she wasn't scared.

"Alright." Evelyn nodded. "I can teach you. When do you need it?"

"Now or tomorrow? We can do it when you are checking the amount of your Ena." Nathan explained.

Evelyn agreed. "What about the last condition?"

Nathan smirked while raising his finger. "This one is the most important."

Bella and Neyeid couldn't help but narrow their eyes, wondering what kind of important condition Nathan would give. Nathan was probably the only one capable enough to actually negotiate with Evelyn.

"Smile," Nathan smirked.

"!!!" Both of them dropped their jaws. Even Evelyn didn't expect him. They thought there would be an important condition, but he only wanted her to smile. It was completely shocking.

Neyeid obviously knew why Nathan asked such a thing. Evelyn was not only strong but also one of the most beautiful people in the world. Back then, there were so many people trying to court her, including princes.

If not for her strength, she would have been reduced to a mere wife. It wouldn't be weird if Nathan was interested in courting her.

However, she didn't expect that Nathan would dare to give such a condition when he still didn't have the strength to be responsible for his word.

Evelyn's gaze turned cold. "I have been putting up with all your behaviors because I know you are sincere and capable. But has my kindness gone to your head? Are you courting death?"

"Yes. If that's what it takes." Nathan grinned, not scared of her.

Bella thought, 'After that massacre, Evelyn has lost her ability to smile. In the end, she has lost almost everything and ends up living for vengeance. He is basically giving an impossible condition. No wonder he says this is the most important. It's more like this is the hardest one to fulfill.'

Evelyn's killing intent leaked out of her eyes. Nathan jokingly said, "Come on. It feels like the people in this group have never seen you smile. It's suffocating, you know?"

Evelyn stretched her fingers as if she wanted to beat Nathan up, but her rationality told her to accept it. The smile was worthless, since she could make him agree with just a smile.

Evelyn asked, "What will you do if you fail?"

"If I fail?" Nathan contemplated. "Since I have put up those three conditions, I should be the one asking you. What do you want from me?"

"Three conditions, three orders. You have to fulfill three of my orders if you fail." Stay tuned with empire

"As long as the orders have the same weight as this mission. Then, I agree.""

"Fine."

Nathan grinned. That was right. Nathan's real target was actually the Sleeping Garden, specifically Evelyn. He joked about it in front of Sullivan and the Pope, saying he couldn't flirt if the world was destroyed. But it might not be a joke.

"Since you have time right now, let's go. I will teach you a bit about gravity and space."
