Chapter 323 Real Member
Shortly after Carmen reached level 30, she continued to spar with Razor and Brutus for an additional hour before calling it an end.
Though it was mainly because Carmen's mana had run out and her health was drastically low.
There were only a handful of tricks she could pull before Razor and Brutus finally took the upper hand and proceeded to bash Carmen left and right.
Although they were careful to not hit her in the face, the damage remained the same elsewhere and after two or three hits, Carmen's health went into the red zone.
"Ugh, indeed, tricks can only be used once before they become ineffective." Carmen panted heavily, exhaustion overwhelmed her.
"It's already not bad to last this long," Xu Feng comforted her. "Razor and Brutus are bona fide Tier 3 fighters. I can tell they didn't hold back when sparring with you this time, so lasting 20 seconds is an achievement already."
Carmen smiled bitterly in response and lowered her head.
Meanwhile, Razor and Brutus walked toward Xu Feng and asked, "Boss, is there anything else you want us to do?"
They were hired for a certain amount of hours, and it was getting close to reaching the time limit.
Nevertheless, they remained professional and requested more work until the time limit was over.
"No more, the two of you were great." Xu Feng shook his head and paid the remaining fee to them.
However, before the two were about to turn around and leave, Xu Feng continued, "I'll be planning on opening a Training Ground sooner or later. If the two of you are interested in being a trainer, then I don't mind hiring you for 5 gold coins per month."
"A salary of 5 gold coins?" Alarmed, both Razor and Brutus were dumbfounded by the news.
These kinds of salaries were not easy to obtain, especially the higher the salary, the more dangerous a mission or task was going to be.
But a training ground was a different story. All they needed to do was train the incompetent ones to become competent. It had zero risk whatsoever.
"Of course, we're interested Boss!" Razor was the first to reply.
"Yeah, I might not be a good trainer, but I can definitely spar with them and teach them their weak points or shortcomings." Brutus patted his chest and exclaimed.
"Very well, the training ground would be named Vanguard Training Ground, so when you see news of it being opened, you're free to apply to become a trainer." Xu Feng said, giving them an advanced piece of information.
At the same time, he was going to have free advertisements being spread elsewhere.
For people like Razor and Brutus, who usually go to a tavern to relax after their mission completion to relieve their stress. Their mouths naturally won't stop talking.
Having Tier 3 Fighters speaking of the matter was more credible and effective than any stores making their own promotions or advertisements to others.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The Vanguard Training Ground was going to be the core for his future guild members to improve their strength and combat power rapidly. Its goal was not to earn money but to produce many capable elites to work for his guild.
Shortly after Razor and Brutus left excitedly, almost as if they had struck gold, Carmen began wondering about Xu Feng's plan.
"Are you trying to monopolize everything, Guild Leader?" Carmen spoke up.
"You are setting up many foundations, but do you have enough manpower and sufficient funds to sustain it long-term?" As an experienced marketer, she easily deduced his plan but was also filled with worry.
She was worried that he might be biting more than he could chew— a term stating that he was expanding too big and might not be capable of managing it.
"Heh, look at you finally starting to worry about the guild's management and financial state." Xu Feng teased, not even taking her concern seriously.
Naturally, he had thought about all the problems she had listed and made ample safety nets.
"Hmph, I was merely concerned that the guild leader's mentality might go to crap once he failed miserably." Carmen pursed her lips.
Afterward, she crossed her arms and began leaving, reacting no different than a wronged person. She was genuinely concerned but received a lukewarm response.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng shook his head and quietly caught up to her.
"I don't mind letting you know the management and financial situation, but you'll need to sign a strict contract by then." He calmly explained.
As much as he trusted her, when it involved confidential documentation and future plans for the guild, Xu Feng was unwilling to divulge it unless they were bound by contract and many more to ensure information wouldn't be leaked. Read exclusive chapters at empire
The same applied to Zhao Kai. Xu Feng had not revealed much to Zhao Kai aside from giving him some brief instructions on what to do.
Hence, so far, only Xu Feng himself knew every detail and had been working overtime to establish many plans.
Thankfully, he still got the NPC Tracy, who had been assisting him in managing the Vanguard Hotel and other small subsidiaries.
While Xu Feng was grateful for the NPC's help, Carmen made up her mind.
"If I sign a contract and become one of the real decision-makers, do I get paid in salary like a normal job?" She asked calmly.
Stunned, Xu Feng halted his steps and turned to her. "You really plan on becoming a true member of the guild?"
Previously, they made an agreement that she would join, but wouldn't touch any of the core secrets because of her unwillingness to be bound by a contract.
Yet it hadn't been that long and she changed her mind already?
"The job that I technically resigned is focusing on the Divine World, and when I searched for other remote jobs. They all wanted the same requirement." Carmen shrugged her shoulders.
"Since I'm already tied to a pirate ship known as Vanguard Guild, I might as well stick with it and not get pushed to the boundless ocean water, right?"
The analogy was quite something, but Xu Feng was more than satisfied with the response.
"Then I officially welcome you as a real member of the guild." Xu Feng faked a cough and extended his hand.
