Chapter 276 Just Leave Me Alone for Now, Okay?
"Lucifer, you are so evil..." Layla giggled as she turned her body toward him to give him a quick kiss. "You're giving James an opportunity to show his worth to Eva while you know he will probably refuse to make love to her again... And if that happens, you'll use this chance to take advantage of Eva and make her yours, making her realize how stupid it was for her to stay faithful to someone like James. I love it!"
"Of course. There's no way I'll give someone else the opportunity to make the first move and take her before I could get a chance to do it myself," Lucifer said with a mischievous grin on his face.
Layla laughed again, feeling amused by his cunning plan. "And what will you do once Eva fails to make James have sex with her? Do you have a plan for that too?"
Lucifer paused for a second before answering her question with another devious smirk. "Well, it depends on the situation at that time. But I will take things slow with her. We still have the rest of the trip to get closer, and it won't be too late to take action once I feel that she's ready for it. And besides, I have other things planned to keep me occupied for the meantime."
Layla raised an eyebrow, wondering what kind of activities Lucifer had planned for the trip, but before she could ask further, the bathroom door opened, revealing Eva standing in front of them wearing a yellow bikini and a matching sarong tied around her hips. Her black hair was still damp from the shower, and droplets of water dripped off her smooth skin.
Upon seeing Lucifer's naked torso and muscular arms wrapped around Layla's slim waist, Eva frowned and clicked her tongue at them in disapproval. "Can you please keep your hands off Layla while we're on this yacht? Or do I need to remind you both that there are more people here other than yourselves?"
"Don't be jealous, Eva. I'm just showing my affection for your cousin. That's all." Lucifer replied, shrugging her words away with ease as he switched his position and hugged Layla's body from the side. "Anyway, I think we should head upstairs and join everyone else now."
As they walked out of the room, Lucifer wrapped his arm around Eva's shoulders, who looked annoyed by his gesture but didn't bother resisting since it seemed pointless to do so and instead focused on walking toward their destination.

Meanwhile, in one of the other cabins, Jack was surprised when Ethan entered the cabin with a depressed look. It looked like something was bothering him, so he decided to check up on his friend. "What's wrong with you, man? We've only just started our trip. How come you are already down?"
"I'm fine, Jack..." Ethan said with a tired voice before sitting down on his bed, putting his hands over his face in frustration. "Just leave me alone for now, okay?"
"No, dude! Don't say that! I won't leave you alone until you tell me what's happening." Jack insisted as he sat beside his friend, putting a hand on Ethan's shoulder to show his support.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
However, Ethan didn't appreciate the gesture much. He quickly shrugged his friend's hand away, saying, "I don't want to talk about it. Just leave me alone for a while, or better yet, go find something else to do besides bothering me."
"What the hell?! I just wanted to help!" Jack shouted back, offended at being rejected like that, but before things escalated into an argument, Nathan and James entered the cabin and asked about what was happening between them.
"Hey, hey! Calm down, guys! We're here on vacation to enjoy ourselves! Not to fight with each other!" Nathan exclaimed as he stood between both of his friends to stop any possible arguments from breaking out further. "Now tell me what's wrong. What are you arguing about?"
Jack pointed at Ethan and explained, "It's him! I don't know what his problem is today. I just saw him coming into this cabin with a sad look, so I asked what happened to him, but he snapped at me instead of explaining himself."
Nathan sighed and looked at Ethan. He didn't know exactly what caused this mood change in him, but he could tell it was something serious enough to affect his friend like this.
"Come on, dude. We're friends here, right? You can tell us what's bugging you." James said as he approached Ethan and sat next to him.
Ethan sighed, realizing his mistake and regretting snapping at his friend earlier. "I'm sorry for shouting at you, Jack, and thanks for caring about me. It's just that... I had just been rejected by Madison after confessing to her in the worst possible way, and I'm still trying to come to terms with everything. But I guess I overreacted because of that. I'm sorry..."
"Wait, wait... So you're telling us that you told Madison how you feel about her and got turned down?" Jack asked, looking confused at his friend's revelation, making Ethan nod in confirmation.
Nathan let out a deep sigh and shook his head in disappointment. "Damn, man. You should've listened to Zoe before confessing to Madison. Didn't she warn you not to rush into things and to take it slowly? Why did you do it right after getting here? I mean, we've just started the trip, and you already went ahead to screw up your chance at love."
"I know... But when she started asking about my opinion regarding her body and sexy outfit, I panicked and blurted out my thoughts. Then before I could stop myself, the next words coming out of my mouth were me confessing my feelings towards her. I didn't plan to say it that way or even that early in our vacation. I swear!" Ethan replied, clenching his fists tight while feeling ashamed of himself. "It just came out of my mouth before I realized it."
