The small door hit Elise in the forehead making her stagger backward. She barely manage to get a hold of herself before seeing the white horse domineeringly looking down on her. It was only now, she realize how different this horse was from Sjors and others.

Samuel had warned her not to approach strange animals because not all of them would be as friendly as what she saw in the Estate but she didn't care about it, naively thinking that she could make friends with any animals.

Meanwhile Samuel was meeting up with the 'guests'. They were the same people from the french government that he met yesterday. It seemed like they were keeping tabs on him and when they found out about his plan to practically alter the general landscape of the castle by adding a grassland for the horses, they became alarmed.

" Mr Samuel, you should do this. This is a cultural heritage sight, any modification would practically destroy it's innate value!"

" I don't really care about such things. What I want is a comfortable place for the horses that I am planning to raise here."

" I understand but please think from our perspective too. It will become a huge issue in the future."

They were in a stalemate. Samuel knew that he was being headstrong about it but who told them to spy on him? They could have just came to him or contacted Lucie if they needed something but planting a mole in his staff was unacceptable.

Beside, he was a little apprehensive about the french government ever since the incident of Elise's kidnapping. Sneaking in dozens of armed men inside the heart of the city without them knowing it was only possible if they had an insider in high ranking position.

He knew that money held significant place in the society but risking life of thousands of their own people was something only extremely greedy person could do, not to mention the casualties that were swept under the rug as a rogue attack, he didn't have a good feeling about them to begin with.

" Young master, I think we should cooperate with them. The government is ever changing but if public knew about it there would be some backlash not only towards you but towards your family." Henri as incharge of this place also attended the meeting.

He could tell that Samuel was being stubborn but he didn't dare to ask for his reason, in turn he layed out pros and cons of this cooperation.

" Yes, Mr Samuel please give us a chance. We will be sure to satisfy your needs!"

" Oh? How are you going to do that?"

Their party looked at each other and knew that they had to throw their trump card in they were to change his mind. It was their last resort that cultural division had came up with in case of this situation.

" The government would foot the bill and make a large ranch right next to Château d'or Vicomte. It would be like a public attraction but there would a private section just for your use. In this way, we can use the funds without getting any backlash toward the government."

Samuel thought about it for a second. He knew that there would be a catch and he could tell what that was the moment they met yesterday.

" To do that you would need to open Château d'or Vicomte to the public too right? I guess that was your end goal from the beginning."

They stiffened up because they didn't expect him to be so direct. It was true that they wanted to talk about it since the beginning but they were hesitant seeing him react so aggressively from the beginning.

" Alright, you can draft up a plan but I have to make one thing clear. There would be some parts that would be out of limit also I won't be opening it like Vaux le Vicomte, which is open to public for eight months. It will be more exclusive more like the Buckingham palace, so draft a contract with these things in mind."

They were all smiles hearing him say it but hearing the last part made them depressed again. Still they didn't dare to say anything to him since he finally was willing to come to the table. Negotiation was something that they were good at, for now, both parties were satisfied with the result.

" Right, I will be here for a week at most so you have to hurry. I will not see you out." Samuel said and stood up. These people were waiting for him whole night and only upon Henri's reminder that he invited them in. Once he was away, they wouldn't be able to contact him if he didn't want it to happen.

After saying a few words, they hurriedly left to inform their superiors about the result. Normally such a thing would be handled by cultural division but since it was someone from Rothschild family, even higher up were paying attention to it.

Samuel walked out the door thinking about how happy Elise would be hearing that she could have her very own ranch here.

" By now, she must have seen the horses right? I should go and join them." He thought about her angel like smile.

Suddenly, someone came running to him and immediately knelt on the ground while catching his breath. Samuel was surprised but seeing the horrified look on his face, he felt that there was something wrong.

" Y-young master, something t-terrible happened." Samuel heart tightened hearing what he said after it. He immediately rushed to the scene with a heavy heart.
